This is an excellent school. Our two children have attended DES for two years. We have had a great experience with teachers - there are no bad ones and many are outstanding. The impressive annual visiting artist program exposes students to creative people from the community and the resulting showcase of students' work at the Art Walk in May is nothing short of amazing. The recent addition of a school garden where every student gets to plant seeds and share in the harvest while learning about science and nature is really inspiring - all paid for, constructed and maintained by parent volunteers. If you are willing to get involved, parents are welcomed into the school in many ways, from individual help with reading and math to assisting with larger PTA events. Technology is up to date and the building is friendly and functional. We love DES!
