5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePS 340 is an exceptional school in the Bronx! It offers rigorous and impressive reading, writing and math curriculums as well as many enrichment opportunities for students. All of the staff members are very welcoming and supportive of parents and their families. I looked up their achievement on state tests, and they perform better than other schools in the district. A wonderful school to send your child too!Parent Review3y ago9 Reviews - High School for Teaching and the Professions

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently an 8th grader this year. I have been appreciating this school since i was in 6th grade. I hold my heads high every time I walk out of that school because I know that they work hard to help all of their students. I have learned a lot from this school. They discipline you, they teach you everything they know. They support you with anything. They will give advice on anything you need. Every time I walk out of those doors, I see teachers staying late just to review things with some students who couldn't process some things. This school is a second home, we all treat each other equally and we never leave people behind. The graduating class of 2014 got into several good high schools such as LaGuardia, Baruch, Beacon and some even got a scholarship for boarding schools. The reason why those freshmans are where they are standing right now, its because this school gave everything they have to help students. - a current student at NSLAOther Review11y ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near 61 E 196th St #1.

"I don't live in this area myself, but my aunt has lived there for over 30 years and I visit her frequently, so I know quite a bit about the area. There are a lot of families and a few parks for kids, pets and space to throw outdoor parties. The parks are typically clean and the area is pretty quiet. there's many stores and places to buy any necessities. Overall a great place to live and raise a family. "

"Parents should know that their children are entitled to good schools. The city has money. All they need to know is to apply. Find bilingual school counselors. Otherwise, kids can be misguided & lost to illicit drugs or alcohol. Parents should stay in focus mode."

"2406 Webster Ave is horrible. They rent out the backyard for parties that go on weekdays and weeknights til 5am or 6am. They have complete disregard to the people who live here. Believe it or not, there are still some decent people who get up early to go to work. "
