The Forest Retreat Lodge is a circa 1890's church turned country lodge by its current owner. The Homochitto National Forest is your undeveloped neighbor in this picturesque spot. Situated on a bluff overlooking the spring fed Brushy Creek, the church was moved to the site from the outskirts of False River near New Roads, LA. Remaining are many original architectural features from the original church that make the setting delightful. The arched ceiling and the original church windows are examples, as is the long open main room constructed from beautiful heart pine. These architectural elements lend a warmth and unique character to the interior. In the mid 1990's a renovation was done, leaving the original chapel feeling intact, but adding on the north side a bedroom and modern kitchen and bath. Red cedar was added to the exterior, with one side left with the original wide planked barge board construction exposed. A forty five foot long open porch offers views of the clear waters of Brushy Creek and the wooded banks of the adjoining Homochitto National Forest. A path leads from the front of the lodge to a fenced in organic garden and beyond the garden is a blueberry orchard, also organic. Past the blueberries is a long sand bar opposite a soaring bluff, a breathtaking sight. The old church's steeple covers a well drawing water from a deep aquifer. Some of the Adirondack furniture may remain. Two year old glass fronted wood burning stove keeps the lodge warm in the winter. New AC installed in 2015 cools the lodge in the summer. The lodge has enjoyed a steady rental income should the purchaser wish it to remain a part time rental property, when not enjoyed for its seclusion and beauty.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageachs is a really good school in my eyes... I am a student and yes, we are not perfect, but we do our best. Any student who wants to succeed, can. I don't feel like it is fair that we are judged because of where our school is located. Liberty, Ms. is a great, rural town where everybody knows everybody. Yes, some students have problems, but that is only because they bring upon themselves to act like adults and try to fix their own situation. I want to thank some specific teachers for the things they have done, especially Mrs. Treva Reid.
