About this House

Discover a truly special piece of Lake Lotela, one of Avon Park's most beautiful and desirable lakes where timeless character, peaceful waterfront living, and exceptional versatility come together. Set on nearly an acre of lakefront property, this 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, one-of-a-kind retreat offers the charm of a classic lakeside home with the modern comforts and flexibility today's buyer is looking for. The main residence features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is filled with character from another era, including beautifully preserved original hardwood floors, doors, and hardware. Thoughtful updates blend seamlessly with the home's original charm, including a renovated kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, ample cabinetry, and abundant natural light. Upstairs, the primary suite feels like a private retreat, complete with a beautiful clawfoot tub, and an enclosed balcony overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Lotela. The guest bedroom and bathroom are located down stairs. Outdoor living is at the heart of this property. A charming wraparound porch provides the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, entertain friends, or take in the peaceful lake views. A spacious screened lanai/gazebo and large courtyard create an exceptional setting for gatherings, while the expansive grounds offer plenty of room to garden, relax, or simply enjoy the privacy and beauty of the property. Best of all, the property features its own private sandy beach, creating a true lakeside escape right in your backyard. Adding tremendous versatility is the detached guest cottage, offering a separate bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette. Whether used as a private mother-in-law suite, guest quarters, home office, or additional living space, the cottage provides options rarely found in lakefront properties. It also creates an excellent opportunity for additional rental income. For those looking for an investment, this property has tremendous potential as an Airbnb or short-term rental. The metal roof and a new AC were installed in 2022. Properties with this combination of Lake Lotela frontage, nearly an acre of land, original character, private beach, detached guest cottage, and income-producing potential rarely come available. Whether you're searching for a full-time residence, weekend lake retreat, multigenerational property, or an investment opportunity, this exceptional property offers a lifestyle and flexibility that is truly hard to duplicate.

"Very family oriented neighborhood. Everybody says hi and look out for each other. We witnessed this last year when tornadoes (due to hurricane season) hit us."
  • pworley13
"I have been visiting Avon Park for over 15 years to visit my parents. It is a wonderful place to live. Highlands Ridge is terrific and the neighborhood is delightful. Weather is fabulous. "
  • Felipe Oscar Parra
"The golf Course is a plus. On top of that, no HOA. Very nice neighborhood surrounded by lakes. Very nice and polite people as well."

"Friendly and caring community. It is becoming more diverse and beginning to grow with new businesses. Lots of great food! "
  • Debbie W.
"Within 10 min of all grocery stores and fast food restaurants. Delivery is widely available. Lots of people who live here commute out of town for work though. 30 min to more than an hour each way"
  • Courtney L. O.
"Too packed and nothing to do the town doesn’t want to build and no opportunities here very small but packed retirement community not for young adults "

"I need to use private vehicle to commute! There is no local bus service and no taxi service. There are only 8 houses on this partially paved road. 2/3 is paved and 1/3 is dusty dirt road!"
  • Jennifer B. M.
"Dogs are fine in my neighborhood, some have them some don’t, as long as they are being cleaned up behind we don’t care "

"I’ve lived in Avon Park since 1962, @ the age of 5 years, raised three daughters, and now I have the privilege of watching their children (totaling my 9 grandchildren) grow up in AP. The 2 oldest already graduated this year on May 24th, 2019 with the youngest turning 2 years old in September. "

"The buolding is full of termites and it is horrible... they said they are planning to exterminate this problem soon"
  • Virginia F.
"I currently live here. I have wonderful neighbors all around. There are only 8 homes on our street. The road is dirt and shell but I county maintained. They come out periodically and resurface the road. They were here again just the other day. Trash pickup 2 X week. County water and septic system. We have sadly outgrown our home, or should I say it has outgrown us. We have 6 children, grown and at one time we had a houseful. We no longer need this much room. Close to super Walmart, a Dollar General, churches and parks and lakes as well. Come by and see for yourself. There are 2 screen lanai's on the back of the house. Carpet , tile & linoleum. Cathedral ceilings in main section of the home. large pantry in kitchen. Ceiling fans all throughout. Laundry room is inside. No need to go outdoors to wash clothes! Large yard. Shade trees. New roof installed in 2004. It is a Alcoa aluminum roof."
  • Andersonbnb
"This home is in a nice neighborhood with larger than average homes. It is away from the hustle of the city, but close enough to town. (10 minutes to WalMart) The homes are on 2.5 to 5 acre estates. so there is privacy from neighbors. "
  • Andersonbnb
"Nice subdivision. Quiet, and has very nice homes away from the bussle of the city, but is close enough to town (only 10 minutes to Walmart). Has large lots so there is privacy from neighbors."
  • my_mbenz y. c.
"I used to live in the area and want to move back cause it is very nice. Great for families, retirees, singles or couples, with plenty of restaurants, grocery, shopping and privacy if desired."
