My daughter is currently in Kindergarten at Greenbrier Elementary. Her teacher has been absolutely amazing. She's very organized and communicates daily (through her communicator folder), and goes above and beyond to plan interesting activities and lessons. I love the atmosphere at GES as well. When you walk in the door it feels very homey. You can often see parents in the building volunteering or eating lunch with their kids-- I do think most parents feel very comfortable in this school. Overall, GES is a really good school, and I'm thankful my daughter is able to go to school there.

Greenbrier High School has the potential to be a great school. As a former student from many years ago, I had a solid experience overall, but many of my fellow students were completely unprepared for college. My family members who attend or recently attended all had a bad experience which is saddening to me. I had some amazing teachers at the school (Barnett, Nixon, Freeland, Spicer, etc.) but the vast majority simply did not care. The school athletic programs today are a shadow of their former selves. It is embarrassing that the football team has become a laughingstock, but there are no internal changes that will be made because the coaches went to Greenbrier High School. In 2024, the football team lost every single game it played. Down the road in Springfield, the football program is a Robertson County powerhouse. The administration does not police the teachers. There is an overall lack of accountability. It can become better and there are some parents who care. The sad part is that many parents who care simply homeschool or send their children to private school. The net result is the remaining students either come from families who cannot afford private education (mine) or parents who care less. The elementary schools in town (GES and Watauga) are both solid with teachers who care. I do not recommend this school but hope that it improves in the future.

Hard to ask for better yet I have dealt with much worse with my four older children at schools outside of this area!
