Working at William Monroe Middle School was a challenging experience. The school struggles with student behavior and low academic performance, and staff often feel unsupported. Administrative oversight leaned more toward micromanagement than meaningful support, and parent involvement was limited. These factors contribute to a high staff turnover. Overall, it was not a positive fit for me, and I would advise prospective employees to carefully consider before accepting a position.

My husband works for the government as an analyst. We recently moved into the area and are very happy with our choice to raise our children in Greene County. I love our child's teacher. He is hands on and beloved by his students. This year my child tested in the 96% (nationwide) in reading and 85% in math. We are quite happy with her scores and can only expect them to get better. Greene County does have a higher proportion of economically disadvantaged children than some of the surrounding districts, however, we don't find it to be an issue. The school is doing really well with our child. I especially love how down to earth other families in Greene are. As more government folks like ourselves move into the area, I'm certain scores will improve as the school's demographics evolve.

This school provides great opportunities to excel and take extra classes or enter programs that are on a college level. But, if you just take standard classes, the teaching is so so and children get board if they aren’t challenged. Over the years, this school is improving and is becoming a very academic plus environment.

My son has had awesome teachers at Nathanael Greene (formerly Greene County Primary). They are so focused on doing their very best for the children. Greene County is lovely but there is a fair amount of rural poverty. I think the school is making great strides and the test score / rankings are beginning to show that in spite of the number of students that start with an educational disadvantage.
