I am worried about all the disturbing reviews concerning bullying. My son is relocating to CT and Bolton is the town he is focused on. This means my grandchildren will be attending your school. If these reviews are true, I wonder how and why a school system could or would tolerate it at any level. Very disturbing.

I am a current Sophomore at Bolton High School, and my experience so far has been nothing short of torture. I have experienced bullying akin to what veterans felt in the trenches, my teachers have not only sat by as it happened, but are the main perpetrators. On many occasions, I have had teachers call me very unprofessional nicknames, physically offended me, and have created environments where I am isolated. Sadly, the bullying does not stop there, I am treated similarly by the students, specifically, the upperclassman stare and say unkind things about me as I walk by. The teachers have incubated not only an unsafe environment but, a tiresome one as well. I used to be a very enthusiastic student but, in my short time here, I have felt nothing less than defeated. In classrooms where I used to rule and subjects where only triumph followed me, now I sit alone, sulking at the thought of my former self, and, rather than triumph following me, I leave a trail of sorrow. I struggle to not only be interested, but I can't even focus on the lesson anymore because I have to stay alert to ensure my safety. I have brought up these issues multiple times to authority figures who I have not been mistreated by and, in response I have been met with nothing or If I am lucky I will get a half-assed answer about "needing to socialize more" or "taking things too seriously". From my failure to get a response I decided to ask my parents to talk to them about it instead, they did receive a slightly more though out answer than me but still they brush off my issues and ultimately it comes to me being the problem. Personally, I have not had any experiences with the special education branch of the school but from what I have heard there are no problems.
