2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child goes to this school and I have to say I am extremely happy with the teachers and the principal. I have heard awful things about this school and was nervous to send my child here. The school is great and my son loves it. His teachers are very nice and helpful. Great communication. This school has gotten such a bad reputation. I do not have a bad thing to say about this school. I know a lot of other parents who feel the same as I do. The school is clean. Everyone is nice (principal, security, people who work in the main office, etc)Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Ps 88 Seneca

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child was in PS 88 school for 4 months. The first week my child came home with a cut on his face he said another boy knocked his glasses off at lunch and pushed up up against the wall. When I asked his teacher I was told Im not there at lunch so I dont know what happened. My last straw was when I went to pick my son up from school and he was very upset. He removed his hood and showed me his glasses were taped and broken. Again asked his teacher she said the some boy elbowed my son in the face because he didnt want to play anymore. I asked why wasn't I notified that this happened? I was told he was in the Principals office for 45 mins and thought that I was called and told what happened. That wasn't the case!!! My son said no the Principal was taping his glasses. My son went back the next day and found out the parent wasn't called or informed that he had broke another kids glasses at all. My son asked me not to send back because he was being picked on by 2 kids in his class and that at lunch time it gets worse because then their friend join in. Even after he told the aids they dint do anything when told. They told my son to tell his teacher. I decided pull him after that. I have tonthinknof my sons safety. When teying tonmeet with the Principal to resolve this she is never able to talk always in a meeting the girls have told me from the office and never called me back when I called serval times. He said he didnt feel safe like he did in his last school. The Principal does nothing to stop kids from bulling other kids. She doesnt call the parents when the kids get hurt or if the kids get it trouble for bulling. She doesnt allow the teachers to do their jobs and communicate with the parents about what happens to their kids and their safety. She wants her numbers to stay down so she can be seen as a good school and get her funding from the DOE. She black balls the good teachers that try to help the children. I would not tell anyone to go to this school. She should be looked into she is a horrible Principal. Want a good school go to PS 91 on Central Ave that Principal is hands on and cares about his kids well being and safety.Parent Review11mo ago41 Reviews - Joseph F Quinn Intermediate School 77

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI transferred my daughter to this school in March 2025 after a traumatizing set of experiences in a local middle village JHS Charter. The School we left had caused some serious emotional scars, and I was on the hunt for the best JHS for my daughter. I was invited to attend a parent meeting that was being held at IS77 (Tea with the Principal). In that meeting I meet 10 other parents who deeply cared about their school. They were so excited about the coming year and sharing all the success their children had experienced thus far and the plans for state test prep. The principal and the parent coordinator were seated and taking pages and pages of notes because these opinions mattered. There were teacher leaders in the meeting using their free period to listen to these parents. I had never seen such care. When i shared why a parent with no child in the building was there - the parent coordinator got up and called the main office and said, "send me a registration package". I was told not only would my daughter be welcomed with open arms - but they will also ensure her a seat in the honors program the following year, and they will work with me to get her any help (emotionally) she needed. It was a genuine care for a child they never met. JHS is tough years for our kids! Everything is changing - new demands - their whole being is changing - they need understanding and support in all the ways possible and IS77 OVER delivers in that regard. The parent community and family engagement is second to none - The Teachers are true rockstars! and these kids wow me every time with their kindness! I may have to just leave a review for the principal! Ms.P is an outstanding leader and is accessible to her community. I wish I would have taken the time to really get to know this school before I made the decision based on "old views" of this school. This is NOT the 77 you think you know! Ms P and her team will make time to welcome anyone who wants to learn about 77! and as a parent, I will always volunteer to do the same because of how much this school has helped me, help my daughter love school again!Parent Review6mo ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 5924 68th Rd.

"Schools everywhere within walking distance. Trains within walking distance but it’s an urban community, one should expect lots of noise and the hustle and bustle."

"When I used to live there, my commute was pretty manageable. I usually took the bus or drove, and it took about minutes/hours each way. I got used to the routine and planned ahead to avoid delays. And the commute feel safe and comfortable "

"There is no train nearby, to find a train you have to walk at least 10 minutes, or take a bus to the train. But you need to have bus schedule handy because the bus is very slow since it’s on a very busy avenue and makes every single stop on the route to pick up and drop off passengers. "
