5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageP.S. 221 is a Hip2B Healthy School. They offer programs to teach children about health living and eating right in addition to their normal educational programs. I attended one of the events for families where there was a chef from a three star restaurant teaching children how to cook healthy. The meal also was also delicious. More over, the principal at this school is very attentive and helpful to the students and their parents.Other Review9y ago6 Reviews - School For Human Rights

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy journey with New Heights Middle School began when my son joined in sixth grade, and it has been a truly transformative experience for him and our family. Over the years, this school has provided a nurturing, engaging, and dynamic environment that has allowed him to grow academically, socially, and personally. The dedicated faculty and staff at New Heights have consistently shown their commitment to supporting students and fostering a love for learning. My son has been inspired by passionate teachers who encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in the classroom. The school's diverse range of programs, from academics to extracurricular activities, has helped my son discover his interests and talents while developing essential life skills.Beyond academics, the emphasis on values such as kindness, respect, and community has had a lasting impact. My son has formed meaningful friendships, learned to collaborate with peers, and gained confidence in expressing himself. The strong sense of belonging and camaraderie among students and families has made New Heights feel like a second home.As my son prepares to move on to high school, (can not believe it! ) I can confidently say that the foundation built at New Heights has equipped him to face new challenges and opportunities with resilience and determination. Our experience with this school has been truly great and we will always treasure the wonderful memories and lessons it has given us.Parent Review1y ago6 Reviews - Check out schools near 587 Crown St.

"This area is now called crown heights. We are located on the other side of Eastern Pkwy. Atlantic ave is a border. We are up the hill. Not a dangerous neighborhood but people will litter all over your property. Dog litter everywhere. Trash from corner bodegas everywhere. I hate that about this community. "

"There are lots of dog parks both official and unofficial, where you can have your dog off leash before 9am or after 9pm. It's important to understand that it's not ok to let your dog pee or poop on sidewalk trees. Homeowners here take a lot of pride in their trees and gardens and letting your dog relieve itself on their property (even if you clean it up) is considered deeply disrespectful."
