5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe sent our 2 sons to Belle Ryan K-6th and they excelled!! Excellent student citizens were produced. We were very involved as parents. PTA president, Cub Scout leader, and even helped with the lawn as volunteers.. Both sons went onto Norris Middle and excelled there as well! Again, very involved parents at Norris too. Both boys then went into Central HS and continued as honor students . The oldest son became an Eagle Scout(scouts started at BelleRyan!) and is now at the University with a scholarhip. All started at Belle Ryan Elementary! Our youngest son is a Jr in high school and he is an honor student and varsity athlete as well. Belle Ryan is a terrific little school with a friendly and excellent staff. Our sons got a fantastic start there and we miss the building and staff. Now Belle Ryan will enter into a new era. A new school is to be built some time soon and Belle Ryan will continue their excellence. We Loved Belle Ryan and so did our 2 sons. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a past student from this school and i have suffered from severe depression and other mental health issues. Instead of helping me get better they made it worse by not taking anything serious, when having panic attacks, they called me dramatic and rolled their eyes at me. The teachers that I had were at least nice. I had to transfer to another school due to my mental health and I 'am 10 times better, I've been in touch with a friend who still attends this school and they said that kids still smoke/vape in bathrooms, that I have also seen when I attended. when I used to attend, fights would happen almost every week and staff don't do much to stop or prevent it from happening. There are also kids who do sexual things. I would never recommend this school.Other Review4mo ago8 Reviews - Buena Vista High School

"We’ve had a mixed experience living in this neighborhood. On the positive side, it’s a beautiful, established area with mature trees and a surprising amount of wildlife. There are also a few truly kind and welcoming neighbors who make a real effort to build community. That said, the overall environment can feel very tense. Some neighbors are quick to report minor issues, and there seems to be a strong focus on enforcement rather than communication. We’ve experienced situations where concerns were escalated to the city almost immediately, rather than neighbors talking directly with each other first. For example, after a storm knocked down a tree on our property, we received a notice to remove it within 30 days—but it was difficult to even get a tree service scheduled in that timeframe. Situations like that can feel frustrating, especially when you’re already dealing with unexpected damage. There have also been instances where notes were left rather than having a conversation, which can make the neighborhood feel less welcoming. Overall, it’s a visually lovely neighborhood, but the experience can depend heavily on neighbor interactions. For those considering moving here, it may be worth understanding the expectations and level of enforcement ahead of time."
