I have to agree that the school does have it's cliques. The band is very successful, but every review on here shows band members and band parents telling how the band is the only thing right with DHS. Athletics are successful at DHS. The track program has won numerous district championships. The football team has been improving. The softball team is one of the best in the state, having won the state championship in 2008. The band is good, but band parents and students should not bash others because of their perceived lack of recognition. We are all proud of the band. Move on!

"A" academic rating hides a dangerous realityDelcambre Elementary School's "A" rating hides a toxic, dangerous environment where student safety is completely ignored to protect the principal's image. I have a straight-A student who comes home upset multiple times a year, begging me not to report bullying out of fear of how the principal will react. When I finally convinced my child to let me step in, she completely let us down by gaslighting my child. She automatically treats victims as liars, uses intimidation to force honest kids to change their stories, and has even retaliated against five-year-olds in kindergarten. Her retaliation includes freezing vulnerable kids out and intentionally leaving them out of school wide photos.Worse, when you report bullying, she gossips to others to make parents look like chronic complainers. She even contacts the bullies' parents and spins the story to anger them. Because of her actions, I have had parents call and threaten physical harm to me and my child at our home. I tried contacting the Iberia Parish school board directly to report these safety threats, but they completely ignored me and never responded. New families are actively avoiding enrolling their young children here due to this toxic reputation. The school board needs to stop ignoring parents, look past the test scores, and launch an immediate independent investigation.
