We are only on day two at Griffin, so I can’t yet speak to the full academic year, but our experience leading up to school and during these first days has absolutely been five stars.Our child transferred from another Katy ISD school specifically for Griffin’s ASIP program, and the transition and special education support have been exceptional. Staff took the time to understand his individual needs, accommodations, and safety needs before he even started. His teachers and support staff have been kind, patient, experienced, and incredibly welcoming.We were especially nervous about how he would adjust. He had struggled with and strongly disliked several of his summer camps and therapies, and he had shown very little excitement about starting school. When he stepped off the bus after his very first day, the first thing he said was, “Today was great!” For our family, that was a huge win and spoke volumes about the environment the staff created for him.Family engagement has also stood out. At the first-day Tears & Cheers gathering, administrators personally introduced themselves and spent time talking with parents. There is a genuine sense that families are viewed as partners.We have also met many expat and Houston-transplant families who researched schools and specifically chose Griffin. It is too early for us to fairly evaluate long-term academics, but everything we have seen regarding teaching, special education, social-emotional support, safety, and family involvement has given us tremendous confidence in our choice of Griffin.
