I went to school here and it was good. I learned alot from the teachers here.But the building is in poor condition. It needs a new school and a gym.

I love this school. Its very excellent. It may be a small school but at least the teachers help you and acknowledge you. Awesome teachers are there and a new excellent princple there. :) I'm in love with this school <3.

Newcomb Middle School is in the New Mexico part of the Navajo Reservation. The school is and has been in a rebuilding mode and Social/Emotional learning skills have been a priority. The teachers try their best to learn the SE skills and in turn teach those skills to our students. The students have embraced Social/Emotional learning skills from Capturing Kids Heart and we can see a difference in our school. The behaviors are theirs and they know that they are responsible for those behaviors. They accept the positives and the consequences when they happen. Our Lead Safety Advisor has been a positive role model for our students and he has shown them what respect looks like and what it means to give respect. He has been a good teacher and keeps safety of our school and students a top priority. Our families have learn the most about social/emotional skills and are learning more each time we make contact with them in student led conferences, parent meetings, after school activities. Our CCSD school district from the Superintendent, Principals, Teachers, Cooks, and Custodians have all been supportive with the ups and downs of rebuilding our school and we are starting to see the payoff of what building a great school looks like. As time goes on we hope to see this positive energy continue where we can see the attendance at school increase with grade level achievements happening every year.
