5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis review is for Del Norte Elementary, school but it wasn't on the list. DNES has a bully problem. The bigger issue is that the administration doesn't want to admit it. They can't fix it, if they don't even recognize that tbere is a problem. This is a major failure on DNES AND The Upper Rio Grande School District. If a bully is related in any way to anyone connected to the school or the High Valley Community Center, said bullies get a free pass to continue bullying other kids. The "mental health" of the bully is more of a concern than the safety of children that are on the receiving end of the bullying. DNES has fallen in state scores over the last few years. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have done well in Del Norte High School. The teachers there really care about the students. The new principal is doing a good job, and I think all kids feel valued. As with any high school, athletes are at the top of the food chain, but I dont' see that reflected in the ideals of most of the teachers. I think that attitude comes more from the community. My child was not an athlete and was treated very well by teachers.Parent Review13y ago
