We are new to AZ. We come from an incredible school district in IL and were told AZ schools were terribly lacking. I am a teacher myself, so I had very specific expectations for what I knew my son should receive. Our kindergartener had to start school online during the pandemic year. Due to family health issues he stayed online all year. The teacher they chose for this position was AMAZING. All of his basic skills were met. He continued to learn and excel all year. Curriculum was thoughtful and rigorous. Even online, our teacher worked at SE and leadership skills. The principal was always in contact with updates and the district, as a whole, was very supportive of parents during a really difficult and odd time. They made smart decisions when other districts did not. Safety, high expectations, solid education and inclusion are seen in this district. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with our experience at Mirada.

I go to this school currently and in my opinion it is an ok school I've had good teachers and pretty bad ones so teachers are ok I've been in Kyrene since preschool and I like it a lot but I think that it could be better like in terms of safety, for example last year I had two lockdowns in 1 month but besides that it is an ok school.

There are lots of students that are not successfully given the opportunity to graduate with the school. They are immediately thrown out told to attend grad solutions. Graduate with people who are 40 and 50 years old. My opinion the counselors need to work with students immediately after sophomore year to get credits they need. Instead of waiting tell junior year too be told there not gonna graduate with Corona High school.. System not setup right the Counselors are not doing there job successfully. I rate this school very low!
