There's a fair share of not-so-nice people here. But other than that it's pretty okay. Ignoring the bad kids usually does the trick but if they don't leave you alone, the teachers are normally pretty nice and will help you out. The school accepts people of all races, cultures, genders, etc and I feel pretty comfy here than at my old schools. I'm not sure about things like special ed and stuff but from what I've seen, the special needs kids are pretty happy here. The only complaint I have is that the lunches kinda suck. They were pretty good last year but now it's only chicken burgers or pizza. It gets old fast. I would say if they bring back international lunch then the problem will be resolved for the most part. People like to talk trash about the school but honestly, from what I've seen/heard, it's better than all the other high schools in Vancouver. I'd say if you need a high school to send your kids to, try this one.

Do not send your children here! There's fights that happen every other day, and always drama. The bullying is out of control, and they barely do anything about it. Kids yell racial and homophobic slurs at lunch, and the food is barely digestible. Kids always vape in the bathrooms and vandalize them. There's no dress code whatsoever, kids walk around in booty shorts and inappropriate shirts. Kids can easily walk off campus, and anyone can just go on campus. The school is split into 5 buildings, and are far from each other. Not enough time for passing to switch classes with foot traffic. Strong perfume everywhere and asthma attacks. Inappropriate drawings everywhere on walls and desks. If you are thinking of taking your child to Gaiser Middle School, you would be better off homeschooling them and teaching them yourself.

Our family’s experience with Walnut Grove was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns regarding communication, organization, student support, accountability, and overall school operations. As parents of children in both general education and special education support systems, we expected clear communication, consistency, structure, patience, and collaborative problem-solving. Unfortunately, our experience reflected repeated breakdowns across nearly every area. From the beginning, enrollment and onboarding felt disorganized when it came to my TK, but my 3rd grader was a breeze and just had to bring in my ID. We encountered repeated inconsistencies between information provided by the front office, transportation, nursing staff, classroom staff, and school support personnel. We were often given conflicting instructions regarding pickup procedures, transportation expectations, required documentation, medical compliance, and daily school logistics, leaving our family to sort through constant internal miscommunication that should never fall on parents to untangle. One of the most concerning issues was the lack of internal coordination between departments. We repeatedly found ourselves relaying information between school staff, medical providers, transportation, and administration because there did not appear to be a coordinated communication system in place. Important medical and dietary documentation was repeatedly revisited, questioned, or re-requested even after updated forms had already been submitted.The handling of medical accommodations was unnecessarily stressful and at times felt confrontational rather than collaborative. Families should not be placed in repeated same-day compliance situations due to internal procedural gaps. There were multiple urgent requests, duplicated paperwork demands, and inconsistent messaging surrounding requirements that should have been fully clarified before attendance was approved. The nurse tried to threaten me with RCW codes until I reminded him I work for an attorney for education program. There were also concerns regarding how injuries and medical situations were handled. The level of urgency, professionalism, and parent communication we experienced did not reflect the standard of care families should reasonably expect from a school environment.There were also internal meetings and discussions involving our children that were not clearly communicated to us beforehand.
