Overall, I am very pleased with the teachers, and students at Hardy. My kids are in 2nd and 3rd grade. My son has had social anxiety for awhile now and they got him to break out of his shell! They really work hard to see your child gets extra attention if they fall behind in subjects. The Hardy curriculum far exceeds my expectations. My children's teachers have gone above and beyond their normal duties. The anti-bullying program is the best! I have never seen anything like it. The students here are so friendly, so nice and kind to one another. It is very comforting as a parent to know they are surrounded by other great kids. It is a great group of students and teachers at Hardy Elementary!!! The only complaint I have is the office staff ladies. When you walk into a school, they really are the face of the school and their personality types do not set a good representation of what Hardy actually represents. The office staff are rude, cold and always seem annoyed when you need answers to your questions. They always have that "stare" that make you feel like your bothering them. Like I said, Hardy is a great school. I give it 5 stars, but they need to re-consider how the office is being run because the office staff is the face of the school to parents. I did read in another review that the gym teacher is always seen in the office as well, very relaxed and unprofessional, and this is true. It is something I wish they would address.

I’m writing this review to help other people who are looking to put there children in this school as a student who went to million middle school and South Lyon East High School being a person of color made me a target for bullying and I suffered so badly with depression and self harm in the time at this school I was bullied by a group of boys who I will not name when I would wear my Afro at school I used to get food crumbs put in it or students at this school would use many racial slurs and I would be called dirty and disgusting by a group of people it was truly one of the worst years of my life and I wouldn’t wish this type of pain on anyone my family wasn’t high class my mother had left a abusive relationship and was working to provide for me and my siblings so I didn’t have the things my peers had and even when I tried to talk to people I was just a target and it sucked even in my freshman year I was compared to a adult flim star by the bullies south lyon do better I understand i wasn’t the same race as most of the students there but genuinely I told so many people about what was happening and it didn’t stop and for it to reach to high school made it worse when i barely knew those people I wish I could name these people but I can’t for privacy reasons but it still hurts that these people are gonna live normal lives

At this school diversity is barely a thing as a Hispanic individual I have personally been treated with racism and discrimination, teachers brush of bullying and harassment and abuse trust, counselors are the best only escape from anxiety at school, work piles on student’s stress, and teachers lack injustice, students are not acknowledged and are treated as if pons, from experience this is not a place were children should be.
