The teachers at Bethware are the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the social worker is lacking. If your child is neurodivergent, please make sure you're informed about your rights. My daughter didn't fit into the box that the social worker thought she should. The social worker told me that my child would benefit from taking ADHD medication without ever trying other options for my kid. I had no idea what and IEP or 504 plan was, and she wanted it to stay that way. Furthermore, she constantly took my child out of class to have meetings with her without ever telling me once. The social worker didn't advocate for my child's well being or education. I was angry to find out that I wasn't made aware of multiple different options before putting my child on a medication that was doing far more harm than good, so I decided to homeschool her. Thankfully, the school board took actions to make sure that my child never has to attend Bethware elementary again.

I currently go there as a sophomore, and I love this school and have always been in Kings Mountain schools. I love the teachers and staff there they do very well in teaching and being entertaining at the same time. Their program for Honors and AP classes is very well done, they always give you a challenge every once in a while.

If you like having your kids suspended just on the word of another student, this school is a great for you. If not, I do not recommend this place. If you like to be handed an MIR every day by your child for simple things like talking, or being in the hall, or going to the bathroom, etc, this is a great school for you. If not, do not waste your time. It did not matter how many teacher changes or administration changes, this school remained terrible.

There has never been a day where my child has not come home complaining. The food is awful and makes them sick to their stomach. The teachers only worry about getting good reviews rather than what the students feel. When there are no parents around the teachers are extremely disrespectful and rude. If you are a teacher and can not put up with a teenager (which is your job) then you need to go into a different career path. There is explicit exclusion to children of the LGBTQ+ community.Under no circumstances would I recommend sending your kids here. It is practically a prison.

I am part of the first class and I have experienced what I wouldn't have experienced if I went to an original high school. I am blessed and proud. you are pushed to do great things that you are capable of to succeed. The teachers help you tremendously if you have misunderstandings. We are crew not passenger, a leader not a follower, and we work together as one. The academics are based on expodential learning with outward bound while also challenging you to be all that you can to strive for the best.
