We have a child in 4k and one in kindergarten. After attending a different school for 4k we were hopeful for a better experience at East and they have delivered. The teachers are fantastic and keep parents up to date almost daily. The boys are excited to go to school and to learn/do activities at school. The school itself always has activities/events going on to keep kids and parents engaged.

Jefferson High School is wonderful in every way. I feel this rating is vastly skewed and incorrect.

JMS was the worst school my kids ever attended. As a Military family my kids have 9 schools under their belt, in two countries and 6 states. So when I say JMS is the worst, we have a lot to compare it to.My child was bullied to the point we had to remove her from the school and take away all online access because the principal, Ms. Volk, and the counselors all REFUSED to hold the bullies accountable.As a parent it’s infuriating when you’re asked “Did you talk to their parents”? Well yes, yes I did. No less than 6 times, so maybe the administration could actually admin now!!They protect the bully and ignore the problem because otherwise their jobs would be hard.My child was shoved into a locker and then I was told it was a staffing issue.For every issue we had, they had an excuse on why they failed us.They moved my child from sitting next to one bully, and placed her next to another bully. The school does not listen. They have caused by child emotional harm and they don’t care.Since removing my child we’ve heard of multiple first hand accounts of even more bullying. It’s so sad because the kids are suffering while the adults pat themselves on their backs for accomplishing absolutely nothing.Let’s create an anti bullying campaign and then let’s drop the ball so kids are getting beat up at school.The admin at this school is the worst I’ve ever seen, just to drive that point home. The worst.If you want your child assaulted in the bathroom, choose JMS. Cyber bullying more your thing? It’s okay, they offer that too! Want to send multiple emails to administrators and never get a reply? Mrs. Volk is your lady.What’s sad is the horrific administration overlooks some really great teachers.Until you have leadership that is respected, nothing changes.
