I think this school is great, but we make this better by adding a couple floors for open space.

I am a junior in high school. I was an undiagnosed. Level 1 autistic who got diagnosed finally at 16. I went to this school for a full 6 years. My opinion on this school back when I was there was yes, they had good teaching techniques and did not discriminate against religion, skin colors, etc. However they did not pay attention to students, bullying, or use any form of positive enforcement. I will add my reasonings for saying so below as a former student. Do note, I do not know if any of the policies or faculty are there current-day.My negative experiences during childhood at this school:1. Verbal Bullying lasting through kindergarten-3rd grade, and was occasionally mentioned all the way until 7th grade. The faculty were informed. Nothing was done.2. I was friends with someone who was severely disabled. They were very kind to me, but I was mentally a 5th grader, and my only friend for 6 years was a person who was mentally a 1st grader. This did stunt me mentally. The faculty did notice this, and instead of assisting, they would take photos of us for social media pages.3. The substitutes were horrible. In 5th grade, I would have meltdowns in the stalls and end up staying there for hours at a time. The teacher never did anything about this, assumed I was skipping, and never asked if I was okay, but she sure did leave it in the sub notes. The sub asked out loud when I asked to use the restroom if anyone could guide me like it was some hall pass duty, I went home and cried.4. The teachers didn't mind yelling at elementary schoolers over smaller issues. They had a very much negative enforcement policy. This leads me to five.5. Whenever I acted out, during 4th and 5th grade they implemented this thing on Friday. The troubled kids, would be placed in a dark room under supervision with a teacher, and everyone else would play outside. You'd get placed here for as little as refusing to do an assignment. You were given a note and a paper. This note was to say an apology to the faculty, that you did something wrong and that is would not happen again, it took up half of a page. You were to sit here, in silence, for an hour writing this in the dark over and over and got punishes if you stopped. As an elementary schooler? I refused to play a Kahoot once and got placed here. I do not know if they still have this policy, but if they do it truly concerns me.Good lessons and entertainment, not good enforcement or enough attention to students.
