Glover is one of the oldest schools in the county it has a long history of serving children from this rural country community. The most positive thing about this school is the caring and compassionate faculty and staff that work there, they always go out of their way to make any parent that would like to be involved feel welcome and a voice in their child's education. The second great thing is that the children are kind to each other no bulling because someone is poor, or different skin color or has a diverse family. In my opinion this is a rare thing especially in elementary and middle school, the kids are excepting and don't judge, like all kids they occasionally have confrontation but there are no social hierarchies, no outcast groups. These are mostly kids who come from hardworking blue collar families or families that have very little in means of money, but they are families that love their children, their community and do their best to make it just like anybody else. This school offers a safe environment, one that doesn't feel like a prison and you don't feel like an intruder when you walk in, you are welcomed. My daughter went to this school from 3rd grade on and now attends high school where she is ranked in the top 10% out of almost 200 students in her class. My son still attends Glover and the activities and traditions he enjoys are ones he could not be apart of in any other school in the area. It is a safe and loving environment where kids can still be kids, also studying the state test and putting the " statistics and numbers" up for the whole world to see does not out weigh the needs of individual children, their educational or emotional needs. The school is small it use to be much larger but the financial downfalls of this country always hit hardest where people already have very little, and our community is a prime example. But Glover and the surrounding small communities have been here since before Oklahoma was a state, Glover School has proudly stood for many, many years itself and will continue to be the school that serves its community members and their children in what ever way that is best for them. I'm proud to have two wonderful children get to enjoy this place and any parent would be lucky to do so as well.
