5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school does not handle truancy. Instead, they talked me into transferring to an alternative school. Truancy happened again and George Washington said he couldn't come back. DPS gave me no options for schooling. My son was 15. I sent him to live with his noncustodial dad and that blew up in my face. They lost their home and ended up on the street. My son refuses to come home and wants to live in a youth shelter. DPS did this. They didn't allow him to attend anywhere nor correct the truancy. Nobody has listened to me or care. I contacted so many ppl in DPS with zero answers over the course of an entire year while working a full-time job and raising another child. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not enroll my student at this school. I have seen 5th graders literally beating other 5th graders while the staff does nothing. Parents are always getting in to fist fights with staff and other parents. "Crestmoor park is a short walk and you'll see a lot of dog owners there. There is also a great path next to GW's football field that is a nice walk down to the "duck pond" near McMeen Elementary (cherry creek and holly)."

"In general, it is a fairly relaxed neighborhood. Kids are often left to play outside, walk to school or the bus on their own. Both Cook Park and Garland Park have nice playgrounds. Cook Park has an outdoor pool and a recreation center."
