The behavior in this school is out of control. I believe teachers and admin are doing everything they can to make the a school positive place, but something is not working. Very little learning is happening in my child's classes (which is evidenced in the school's most recent test scores) - lots of chaos and disruption. It's sad for all of the students who want to learn.

Its only good if you are taking AP courses, thats where you can actually learn stuff

As other parents noted, I'm disappointed to see Greenbrier's low Great Schools rating. It's a fantastic school with caring, supportive educators. Due to my husband's job, we were able to request admission to any Charlottesville City School. Greenbrier has such a good reputation in town that it was an easy decision even though it means 20-25 minute drive one-way to get the kids to school. Both my Kindergartener and 2nd grader have had excellent experiences.

I attended this school a few years ago and it was AMAZING! All of the teachers care about their students, and the teaching techniques are unique and easy to learn. I was so prepared for middle school and knew almost everything when I entered the 8th grade. The after school program is incredible as well, it gives you a chance to explore something you maybe thought you had to interest in, and it is very organized (which I liked) and really helped shape me. I transferred to Fairfax County and it is no where as good as this school. I really wish I could go back and attend this school again. :)
