Shared an experience on the schools website and it was taken down because the administration at the school took it personal against themselves and her staff instead of being accountable regarding the message being sent. The yearbook clearly does not support inclusion based on how the special needs classes were displayed in the yearbook. They were put in the very back of the book, with no indication of what grade any of the children were in, only the teachers name at the top of the group of students and roughly six pictures of random students on the following page, then that is it, end of book. The rest of the yearbook is as expected all classes, included remote students were presented properly, with their classes, many pictures of extracurricular activities and events and all students clearly presented with the grade they were in. This type of incident does NOT support inclusion, nor does it support IDEA. These children will look back on this book and say, why did that happen? I feel it should have been addressed prior to publication and these children deserve better.
