I attended BH and also Tongue River while my wife attended Sheridan HS. BHHS has tremendous school spirit and the school is very accepting of new students. Many students come from families who are wealthy relative to the area but they are in no way exclusive. The academics are great for preparing students for college and the school has incredible school spirit

TRHS is an average school. It prepares students well for trades but does not prepare students well for college. It has few if any AP classes and the students will not be prepared for entry level Math required for a UW engineering degree - I was 2nd in my class and many of the other top students felt the same.

I find they are great for any kid! Teachers really care about their students. They take time for each child as needed. My sons teachers took even personal time to talk to them if they had problems. If it's emotional or work problems they make sure your child does not leave without knowing what they can do about it. It's so hard to find a school where the teachers really care about the students rather then there pay checks but this school really does. If your in this area this is really the best school.

The staff works extra hard to make all students successful in all that they do. Students well-being academically and socially is high priority. As a parent of children and a grandchild who has attended Big Horn I have seen the constant changes the school has made to improve proficiency and growth in all students. Bully issues are handled immediately and are not tolerated. It is extremely important to the staff that students feel safe which make a better atmosphere for learning.

I have 2 kids in this school, absolutely love the teachers and there sports programs. On the other hand, the principal Mr. Spring is a jerk. He thinks is running a military school. Making kids wait outside when its -10 outside, then you have to be buzzed in. Ridiculous!! He also, holds grudges on the kids, which isn't right either!
