They make the students do back flips and etc just to graduate. They honestly make your life so much harder. Dont send your babies here save the heartache. Oh and not to mention they make you do cross word puzzles if you get in trouble during the day and have to stay later. "Normal, as if anyone walking there dog. Enjoying the walk with there companion dog. I don’t think there’s anything not to like about the neighborhood. It’s quiet everyone keeps to themselves and it’s just an overall great little suburb. "

"Not the friendly. Depends if you live on a quiet block you may enjoy living here. But if you’re on a busy block you will have problems with neighbors , police , people walking their dogs and lots of trash . Sometimes it can be a headache. Tent has gotten so high. "

"I grew up in the North Austin area in Chicago. I currently live in South Austin. There is a difference. There is trash everywhere. It is not a very safe area. People hanging out in front of the corner stores. My car got broken into. When I made a police report the cop told me this area is notorious for auto theft and break ins. The pro is that it's close to Oak Park and closer to my job. "

"I lived in the Austin Area for a little over a decade. grew up over there. the distinguishable difference between the south and west sides are the things in surrounding areas. corner stores, fast food, tiny local grocery stores, that kinda thing and they don't come and go nearly as often. Austin has had the same alderman for YEARS, the community is comfy with her. things have certainly changed, the neighborhood ebbs and flows but I've never truly felt uncomfortable. not riding my bike on my block, or walking to and from the train station during my rebellious teen yrs. the people who've been there, have likely been there for YEARS, their families live there too. just recently started becoming a little gentrified. "They should keep a close eye on their kids when they let them go outside to ensure their safety. There are a couple of near by parks to the children and nearby grocery stores to go to. Overall the neighborhood is quiet and majority of the neighbors stay to themselves. "
