Paola middle school does nothing about bullying. I’ve gone many times to teachers to only be told. “We will handle it.” That never happened. Last year I was sexually harassed in a hallway going back from lunch. Teachers claimed to had never seen it. The only teacher who did something about it was my health teacher. That kid who harassed me had a 2 day suspension… this wasn’t the first time he had done it and I was not the first victim. And the school did nothing. Let’s not talk about the learning either. Most of my classes are here’s the assignment look it up online. I’m not learning anything. Once an a student I just pray for C’s and D’s. One of my teachers even looses assignments. I’m amazing at science but when I kept getting 70’s on “late.” Assignments that she lost I managed a B- in that class. I could name 4 creepy teachers. I could name hundreds of disrespectful and rude kids. Oh and don’t forget the “we don’t tolerate bullying.” Stuff. It’s fake. It’s super fake. I’m supposed to feel safe at school. But it took them 4 gun threats to expel a kid? I don’t recommend this school. If anything… send them to Spring Hill or Louisburg. At least those schools are better

Cottonwood is the other elementary school in Paola, and we really love how the district splits grades K–5 between the two schools. For example, students attend Cottonwood for K–2 and then transition to Sunflower for grades 3–5. Both schools offer so many opportunities for parent involvement, and truly, 99% of the teachers and staff go above and beyond.

Has room to improve with professionalism and friendliness of staff, safety for students and communication with others.
