"No real issues. Not as much public trash cans to throw bags away on walks. Sometimes peopleโ€™s dogs bark as we walk by, but I donโ€™t have much of an issue with that. "
  • M9g82f94rd
"Hosmer St is SCARY, and I hope we get off of it soon! There are always people shooting in the air and the homeless are heavily on drugs and roaming about. Not safe, I donโ€™t even feel okay walking my dog around the apartment complex. "
  • 1rad Dad
"The cracks in the sidewalks from the big trees lifting the sidewalk up. I love the architecture of the house. "
  • Trulia User
"It is a safe neighborhood Very quiet A nice era to raise kids there's everything by it shopping school library is et Cedric et cedra"

  • Trulia User
"I can't say more of anything good about this area in the city. I've definitely aged and am would be more than happy to live in a small town again. "
  • Trulia User
"in all, my little pocket of south end is nice. my neighbors are generally quiet and friendly, although there is little interaction. If you are a light sleeper, street racing at all hours may keep you up. "
  • Trulia User
"it's not the worst, but definitely not safest. Tacoma is a bit crazy. South Tacoma is getting better but it's not safe at night. "
  • Trulia User
"as I had stated on the last property I lived in there until recently for quite a while and I love The Neighbourhood I love the people I feel safe there people mind their own business but they watch out for each other's back I am actively seeking to live there again this property may be an option the price is your right"

  • Trulia User
"i commute to Lakewood and its a pretty short drive. Area not well maintained and traffic bad. Trash all over the sidewalks and roads. "
  • Trulia User
"Grit City South End has caring and united neighbors. we work together to keep our streets clean, traffic circles beautiful, and support new families moving to our area."

"Neighbors look out for eachother. I've lived here most of my life. There's a real sense of community. "
  • Trulia User
"The commute to Seattle is getting pretty bad. Sometimes 1.5 hrs each way. If you're going to have to commute up north, hopefully you learn the back routes."
  • Trulia User
"Great access to downtown, 3.5 miles. South End is near I-5 and also is close to Pacific Ave (access to Mt. Rainier, etc.), 2 hrs from Pacific Ocean, and 2.5 hours from the Olympic Peninsula via Hwy 16."
  • Trulia User
"There is a mix of nice and less nice streets. If the city was to change some of their policies, it would be cleaner than what it is. The parks are nice and it's still been a nice area to live with easy access to downtown, the train, and freeway."
  • Trulia User
"Depends on what time I leave. In the afternoon it is terrible. Stand still traffic most of the time "
  • Ed L.
"Neighborhood clean ups yearly. Chinese new year celebration. People seem to care about their neighbors."

"There arenโ€™t a lot of dog parks here. There are local parks and the waterfront you can use thatโ€™s for the general public, hut for parks specific to dogs, I donโ€™t know of one local. "
  • Eugene G.
"Drive the neighborhood at night and decide for yourself. The day time makes the area look better than it actually is."
  • Alicia D.
"I have lived in the neighborhood for 16 years. Pros: relatively quiet, close to bus lines, several nice parks nearby, lots of shopping options and both I-5 and 512 close. Cons: no consistent sidewalks, wouldn't leave valuables in vehicles, poor school ratings, litter, transients and prostitutes. Personally, we have never had any problems but I know some of my neighbors have. "
  • Michelle L.
"Very easy and light traffic some of the major streets can be busy but not that bad overall easy commute "
  • Michael P.
"nice yard needs to be fecned good neighborhood to walk your dog rent is reasonable house looks cosey"

"I would say it nice friendly and safe. I have neighbors who are helpful friendly and we all look out for one another"
  • Lucyisgreat159
"Lachmont elementary is good for the community. The area is in need of a good park. Fern hill is a really quant area for families."
  • Patty G.
"Some sidewalks need repairing and are uneven, I have almost tripped quite a few times. Some sidewalks are blocked by vehicles, trashcans, etc. otherwise a normal neighborhood to go walking in. "
  • Ashley

  • Danielle W.
"it's very diverse and and the kids enjoy there schools. we are located near a lot of shopping areas. That is very convienent. The crime around here is not so good but it's not the worse. "
  • Karisawrealty
"People watch out for each other's dogs: If a dog is is wandering, or gets lost, or found, someone will post on the neighborhood FB page right away. Close to Lincoln Park, lots of room for dogs to run and play there, I personally have never been bothered walking my dog late at night, or had any worries about my safety, feel 100% safe Walking my dog here. Lots of dog lovers in Lincoln South, off leash dog park is close too <1 mi.! "
  • Melissa
"None. This place is a bottomless pit of despair and depression. Some Neighbors are ok. Mostly old, dirty houses. No one has pride for their homes. Lots of drug use and crime. "
  • Borusa21
"No comments please. Loud music, speakers at night time. Trees hanging on houses . No body cares. Been calling city of tacoma twice year ago. "
  • Squallsrinoa
"There are several parks and a big school yard within walking distance. The school yard is fenced so roaming doggies would be no problem. There are also sidewalks on most streets here. "
