Since mine was the last review of Chaloner Middle School, and that was 2017, it is time for an update.Chaloner has remained a more coherent learning environment on the whole, but that was probably most facilitated by COVID-19 and school closings in March 2020. 2018-2019 saw a revolving door of principals with the one standing at the end of the year winning the prize. Fall of 2019 was in turmoil as she set about assert her ideas of fine management dispensing with working systems, schedules, and proven teaching practices. Returning to work after the school closings was a joy at begin able to teach in new ways using what we learned we COULD do with digital instruction. Yet, there was a constant harping that we would teach using online platforms as long as we HAD to, but that the only acceptable education format was face-to-face without masks. Learning has continued at Chaloner due to a faculty who rallies wonderfully to the task despite the appointed leadership. The positive factors in this updated review reflect my respect for my colleagues and the clientele, not administration and supervisory teams.

The school personnel involved in special education are pathetic. This local education agency follows neither state nor federal edication law and they appear to be ignorant of the laws related to edication. Also, some of the aides are unfriendly and the school appeats to be hiding previous indiscretions. Every website rating is no better than 4 out of ten and some as low as 2 out 10.-pathetic I contend.

Over all I would give the school an 8. One of my children started here in 4th grade and had an awesome experience. The other child started in kindergarten and had an awesome kindergarten teacher, unfortunately no longer with the school. We had one incident in 4th grade (not with other kids). They could have handled it much better but didn't. As a parent, I didn't see a satisfactory outcome from my complaints on how the situation was handled. It was definitely a learning experience. Trust was lost for myself and my child. Aside from that, it has been good.
