My children went through both, elementary (Kresson) and Voorhees Middle School ( VMS). To my opinion Kresson is a mixed bag. However, it went down in early writing and math skills as classes seems to me became larger and the schools do not have enough teachers do development critical thinking and learning skills. The school district is eager to promote an Early Sex education among elementary school age children under a Health Education curriculum, and has staff for those type of lessons. Please be aware that parents can opt out the Sex Ed part if desired. The opt out forms can be requested through your district school administration and must be submitted by September 22nd, 2025. I wish we would have a voucher option to be able to afford to take our 6-year-old son to a private or a Catholic school to avoid an exposure to undesired information pushed by public schools in New Jersey

Both my children and I found Voorhees Middle School (VMS) administration to be a complete disaster. Bullying has been and seems to me still a serious issue for years, yet little to no progress has been made in resolving it. My child with autism “graduated” from VMS after enduring multiple traumatic incidents, including a fractured collarbone, a concussion, and being attacked with a metal chain by a group of students at the public park. Instead of supporting him, the administration punished him for standing up for himself. No Special Education or Family Support was offered to resolve the ongoing bullying issues at school.Parents should also be aware that NJ schools are not required to release video surveillance evidence to parents—even in cases where a child suffers physical abuse. In our case, incidents were dismissed as “bad luck,” “accidents,” or worse, the administration placed the blame on my son himself. No resources were ever provided to help him develop social skills, despite his autism diagnosis.Many of the teaching staff at VMS are very good, and some teachers are genuinely excellent. But when it comes to the administration, I would give zero stars.If you wish to opt your child out of Early Sex Education and a controversial reproductive topic as part of the Health class at VMS, please get in touch with the school for the necessary form. I wish we had an option for a school voucher program to avoid such unsafe conditions for our children.
