My daughter excelled last year in school and I will say that she learned a lot which in the grand scheme of things is the most important part of going to school. However, one thing you will not do if your child goes here is have any kind of valuable relationship with the teacher outside of messaging on their app and the couple teacher/parent meetings you get which surprisingly aren't Zoom meetings. Involvement in schooling is hard. Walking your child to class, wanting to participate in birthday celebrations, or even go to talk to the teacher you aren't able to. Parents aren't allowed in. I understand the safety of our children, but there has to be another way because other schools have done it. The doors are wide open in the morning and when there's assemblies, pretty much anyone is able to walk in which screams unsafe, but a parent can't walk their kinder to class. Also the staff and their attitudes are very iffy. More specifically the front desk staff. I'm not sure if they even want to be working. One particular staff member up front is incredibly unkind and doesn't so much as smile. I'm not the only parent who has had this issue. The saving grace is my daughter did learn a lot last year and for that I'm happy.

I think Mesa View is doing a great job making students feel included and helping them want to be there. The teachers also really care about their students! Family engagement is also a huge priority and there are lots of opportunities to be engaged.

Piedra Vista is a great high school; I'd say the best one in Farmington and in the area. Teachers worked great with my kids. School is newer and has a great Athletic program and does very well in almost everything. School even has officers on grounds from the start to the end of school and even school evening events. There is a State cop that lives on campus. School is located in a great area of Farmington. I would 100% suggest this school if you were moving in to town or want to change your kid schools.
