    "Great for dogs"
  • Robin Williams
"Great Barrington is second to none - one of the best small towns in the United States! Its Main Street was the first street in the United States to have been electrified. It was the birthplace of WEB DuBois. It is part of the Berkshire cultural mecca, particularly in the summers and it has so much natural beauty with its lakes, mountains and forests. At the same time it amazingly has the best bagels and a schmear anywhere in a 150ish miles, and good restaurants with diverse cuisine. Aside from its many churches, there are also two synagogues. It has rainbow painted crosswalks. I love GB!"
  • Evelyn Battaglia
"I have lived here for more than a decade and find it safe and the people friendly. There’s a vibrant, walkable downtown with a world-class theater and independently owned retail shops and restaurants. Plus a lake for water sports and four-season beauty. "
  • Taz
"Small town with lots of opportunities for arts and culture and learning and history. Food co-op, fancy food stores and big mainstream grocery stores. Friendly, intelligent people. "
  • Emilyklavun
"Halloween is awesome for trick or treaters - great for walking and dogs - super safe, clean - nice people!"
  • Tracie Bergeson
"Community is downtown Great Barrington which is pretty close. Our neighborhood doesn’t do anything. "
  • Taz Blu
"There are 3 teen/preteen on the block but not much kid action ACV around here. Great grandparents next door and family visits often. Kids seem to be 17-19. There are bears, coyotes (hear them), possum, Mr and Mrs skunk, fox etc so it’s.a great place for wildlife. Some yards are big enough you don’t need a park nearby. "
  • Cory B.
"There are so many unbelievable walking trails. Dogs will love it. It’s an amazing place to have a dog"
  • Maggie Ansbro
"Memorial Day parade, music at the bandstand on Friday nights during the summer and the Holiday Stroll in December."
  • Julie L.
"Quiet and safe streets. Very family friendly. I lived here for six years and am only leaving because of a job change. "
  • Roundhat
"As a parent who grew up all over this country, GB is a great place to raise a family. However, if you’re a kid, there’s nothing to do 8 months out of the year. Small children, I’d say 5 and under, go stir crazy durning the winter months. There is nothing indoors for children to do. Teenagers get into trouble because they “look” for things to do for excitement. There are no sidewalks for children to walk on, and no bicycle paths for children to get around on. This is one of the deciding factors for us moving to San Antonio, TX. "
  • Richnryme
"too many dog owners walk their dogs without a leash. Making it dangerous for both other dog owners and pedestrians. on occasion, owners dont pick up after their dogs, but I have lived where the practice is much worse "
  • JR
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 24 years and raised my children here. It’s safe, clean, green, quiet and beautiful. "
  • JR
"I’ve lived in my home for 25 years and raised my children here. It’s a safe, quiet and wonderful neighborhood!"
  • Jeremy S.
"Very family friendly. Nice mix of nature and village. Good shops, cafes, etc. but also near hiking and a LOT of cultural offerings."
  • Reinsjennie
"Great town, Great neighborhoods, Great Barrington. I feel very good about having raised my kids in this picture-perfect, quaint, hip, New England town. "
  • Hildib
"Yard sales, friendly talk and everyone is friendly. Many parties and everyone is taking care of their homes and yards"
  • Gmp364
"Lived here 10 years, quiet neighborhood. Dog friendly. Close to Lake Mansfield and 2 ski areas . Walk to downtown. Excellent fire and police departments."
  • Gmp364
"Lived here for 9 years and never any problems . Very dog friendly. Close to lake Mansfield. Simons Rock college."
