Located in Terlingua Ranch you will have no restrictions, but the county does have a light ordinance to protect the dark skies. This area is a favorite for astronomers, amature and serious. The ranch has a road maintenance fee of $193 per year, due in March. This fee goes up some every year for the cost of living. In the Corazone area, you are surrounded by huge mountain ranges. Power is by solar and water is water catchment. The ranch offers cabins, RV & Tent hookups, a great little cafe, swimming pool, bathhouse, and a 4000Ft dirt strip for fly-in guests. There are no gas sales at the ranch so it is best to top off your auto in Alpine before you come. The GPS # we provide will get you to the middle of the property. We have maps and topos. "ALPINE is extremely animal friendly for pet lovers. Openly keel your fur babies with you wherever you go, just be sure to take baggies with you and pick up any of their droppings. There are beautiful walking trails and gorgeous sunsets and the most amazing night skies. Also we have a couple of great veterinarians here in town."

"We are a live/work area. Lots of restaurants, bars, galleries. Many have Gallery space and residences. We have a local Amtrak station across Holland. Grocery and hardware within walking distance. Two coffee shops and a book store. "

"I have lived in Alpine for 15 years and worked here for 8. It is a diverse community that offers a lot of resources for its small size: hospital, university, good private and public schools, lots of nature based recreation with 1/3 of Texas' public open space within 1 1/2 hr drive. Clean air. Dark nights good for astronomy. "
