4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is attending Pre-K & Ms Bernie is her AWESOME teacher. I must say that I love her involvement & care that she has with the kids. Shes very personable, patient but not a push over. If she feels something isnt right she will address the issue. I am a first time parent & before I put my daughter in this school, my husband & I visited & re-searched a lot! She was the PRIME reason we decided that's where we wanted our child to be! The new principal, Ms. Swann has been very involved, even sent home plush toys with her personal signature for each of the pre-k kids. She greets the parents & kids outside the school with smiles & we have been there when she goes to check in with the class. The after school which is run by The Children Zone has some young girls working & some of them can be very immature & unprofessional to be honest but not all of them. I hope to have an even better experience when my child goes to Kindergarten. Parents do need to be more involved & care to educate themselves for the sake our their children so that we do not allow our children to miss out on our neighborhood schools. We make the difference that our children benefit from... Lets not forget that!Parent Review13y ago3 Reviews - Thurgood Marshall Academy For Learning And Social Change

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei spent two years here and it was okay i guess. the building was always clean and the teachers were challenging us but the real problem was the students. my friend was jumped in the locker room twice in one week and there were recordings of it and everything. i had to get out of that bad environment, the fear i was in was really affecting my learning. the teachers provided us with challenging material and curriculum but the only problem were the kids. in the end of my seventh grade year i was threatened by a group of girls who said they were going to jump me. i couldnt even come to the last day of school. this school is also in harlem, a predominately black area, so me being not of african american decent made it challenging to even get into this school, it felt like everyone was giving me a hard time because i didnt look like they did. the lack of diversity is a problem here, but as for academics it is actually ok.Other Review13y ago7 Reviews - Harlem Renaissence High School

"Overall, it was a solid place to stay through june homes. The apartment was furnished and functional, which made moving in much easier, and everything I needed was already there from day one."

"You have to see lots of dogs. If you like dogs, that it is good. If your dog isn’t a fan of other dogs or you are a human that doesn’t like to say hello, it may be not as good"

"I have lived in Harlem for over 13 years. It is a wonderful community. I have never lived anywhere where I knew as many of my neighbors. There are lots of local events, lots of transportation and quite a few good places to eat. I would love a few more vegan options, but there is a lot to choose from. "

"They would like having access to dog runs (Marcus Garvey Park and St. Nicholas Park). However most dog owners do not pick up after their dogs. Be careful walking in the neighborhood bc some people defecate in between parked cars."

" The Heritage House has been great so far. The apartment is fully furnished, and the communal areas are well-maintained. The location is fantastic for nightlife and food. There’s been a minor issue with noise, but it’s manageable."

" offers a good set of amenities including a well-maintained gym and a community lounge. The apartment itself is modern and spacious. Noise from neighboring units can be an occasional issue."

"The Heritage House was a great choice for my time in Harlem. With Central Park right nearby and quick transit options, it’s super convenient. The building’s amenities, like the gym and community lounge, are fantastic, and the garden is a lovely touch. The apartment itself was modern and comfy, and having an in-unit washer/dryer was a real bonus. Monthly cleaning and keyless entry were nice extras. My only small gripe was occasional street noise, but it’s a minor issue in an otherwise excellent spot. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a stylish, easy living experience in Harlem!"
