"Fourth of July celebrations get better with each year! They do hold weekly market days downtown by the lake on a certain day, during certain times of the year as well."
  • Karen Sulek
"Average time to work takes about 30 minutes. we do not have public transportation. We are close to expressways, but they are always under construction and dangerous."
  • Wendy
"My neighborhood is close to my work and the downtown area. It's a nice, quiet subdivision most of the time. "
  • Michael P.
"short sweet and to the point close to all the highways and all the major businesses without the traffic of living in the city "
  • 7completeangel14
"At the YMCA or Festival Park. Those are the only places that I have attended anything, aside from church functions."
  • Andi B.
"There is a summer fest that goes on at festival park. There are usually some vendors and food trucks there along with live music and adult beverages."
  • Coty S.
"Bars. Lots of bars. And also bars across the street from other bars. You can open up a bar here and it would do good for a year."
  • Ashlybethdiaz
"Many children in area. Have not had any problems with school systems. My daughter loves it here. Very friendly and safe community "
  • Indianairreial2018
"Some dog owners might not necessarily like the neighborhood because, the area is wooded and thereโ€™s not a lot of enclosed fences."
  • 7completeangel14
"Not a lot of public play areas that are updated an in good repair. There is not much in the way of variety when shopping."
  • Kalenahh23
"Good place people are friendly. Cops are always patrolling. People walk their dogs all the time, and down town is the best part"
  • Larry D.
"people in Hobart have a hard time keeping their dogs in their yards. always every week there is a lost dog."
  • Sharon J.
"Can get to several towns within twenty minutes. Close to highway. Close to beach. School system is decent "
  • St. V.
"Itโ€™s great and super duper nice and people are friendly and always nice walking thereโ€™s dogs and cats "
  • Anna U.
"loved the community. friendly neighbors, close to stores, good schools, clean parks, economically structured "
  • Anna U.
"nice neighbors, close to schools, close to stores. local grocery stores within walking distance. good education system. "
  • Chris R.
"Itโ€™s nice. And the town is well maintained, there are nice parks and places to walk. The people are friendly and seem good natured. On Thursdayโ€™s there is a market at the lakefront. There could be more restaurants but there are a few decent ones. Right now houses for sale are a little too expensive though."
  • Myra N.
"Quiet, clean ,great schools , lots of fun community events. upgrades are ongoing to the lake and downtown areas. I hear that some of the older structures will be removed and modern improvements will be forthcoming. True Americana ! Commutes are by personal auto and Uber or other commercial modes. With that said, transportation is identical throughout most of Lake and Porter Counties. Two of the older towns have a limited bus service within their municipalities."
  • Tittleinbox
"Open areas to walk the dogs. Not a lot of traffic in the subdivisions. Other dogs live in the area as well."
  • Nefertiti G.
"Hobart is a nice area to live it is quiet and the lake is an added beauty to the city. Downtown Hobart reminds me of a snippet of a hallmark movie. Very nice. "
  • Cansecokatie
"I never see people walking their dogs. They mostly just let them loose in the back yards. Alot of times they get out and lost which is a huge problem I've noticed"
  • Tatiannamedellin5
"Hobart is a nice neighborhood and safe for kids everyone is nice and very friendly you can walk to the lake in the summer and itโ€™s a good workout "
  • Myra n.
"Itโ€™s a busy street ambulance route to nearby hospital and fire station. Elementary and private schools nearby"
  • Meilicia80
"Get informed for whatever happened around the neighborhood. Some neighbors are friendly. Neighborhood Garage sale every summer and park day with potluck before fall season. Halloween around neighborhood. "
