Both of my children have attended Poky and had the absolute best high school experience. The teachers always gave extra time if my kids wanted or needed it and always sent the message that my kids were loved. Both my kids graduated with enough college credits to start with 3 semesters of college already completed. Poky offers a large variety of dual enrollment courses where the kid is actually taking a college class while in high school. They have AP classes as well but encourage kids to take the college dual enrollment course over the AP unless they are leaving Idaho for college. The dual enrollment course is not dependent on an end of year high stakes test like the AP classes so kids have a better chance of earning the college credit. Poky has an amazing and welcoming culture where their motto is - Pocatello High School - Where Everybody is Somebody. Century is filled with a bunch of elitists and Highland is so overcrowded, there are nearly 40 kids in a class. If you care about your kid getting an excellent education in a school that teaches them the value of diversity and truly cares for each of its students, you will be very pleased with Pocatello High School. I would recommend it far and above the other two high schools in town.

I currently have 2 children enrolled at Tyhee. I have been very pleased with the school, and the quality of education they have received. Teacher's at Tyhee recognized that my son needed a little extra challenge and recommended him for the G.A.T.E. program. I was initially concerned before sending the kids to Tyhee because of low test scores, etc, but I am happy to say that my fears were ungrounded. I have been truly impressed by District 25 as a whole and Tyhee in particular.
