The school has changed in the last few years with a new principal and unfortunately for the worse. Since she has come on, Glorietta has been stripped away of traditions that have made it so unique and special. The school used to feel like a sweet & warm environment, but it now feels very sterile & cold. Under her leadership, there have also been classified staff near and dear to our school community that have been pushed out. Teachers are hit or miss. A very FEW great ones, and some that are just mailing it in. It all doesn’t feel like what it was when we first started here. It’s very unfortunate.

This is a fantastic middle school. My child has had a wonderful first year and I couldn’t be happier as a parent. Amazing extra curriculars, tons of sports, great advanced math classes. We’ve loved the first year experience. The principal of 13 years is moving on and the new one coming in- is local and has been given high regards. Very excited. Don’t hesitate to send your kids to the orinda schools so far we are 2/3! Haven’t hit miramonte yet.

My daughter has been a student for two years. Based on almost any metric, it is one of the best high schools in the state, period. Top graduates from this school are attending the finest universities in the Country. It was recently recognized as a “California Distinguished School”. The fact that “Great Schools” rates it a 9/10, instead of a 10/10 because of an “equity” score tells you more about them than the school.
