My son has been attending Foster Elementary since Kindergarten, he is currently in the 5th grade. Throughout the years, this school has done group/class punishments if one child or a handful of children act up. All of the students that were not the issue get in trouble for other people's bad behavior and get recess taken away or get privileges taken away. In 1st, when one student would act out and throw chairs or knock his desk over because he was upset, the whole class would be removed from the room rather than the problem child, so all of the other students weren't there learning like they were suppose to. Then there was an incident involving a homeowner in the vicinity that had a mental breakdown and shot at the school on a Sunday morning. The school staff didn't think this serious safety issue should be relayed to parents. The majority of parents didn't know about this incident until a parent posted about it on Facebook, weeks after it happened. The individual was going to be released from a mental health facility until enough parents expressed concern and they extended his stay there to get him the help he needed. It is also noted that school starts at 7:45am. My son has been through the front doors at 7:45 (and 7:44am sometimes) and gets written up for being tardy. When I asked the school principal if this was in the parent handbook or anywhere for that matter, she avoided answering it directly and said it's their policy. So I asked her why then am I having to wait almost every day until 2:22-2:25pm when he is suppose to be released at 2:15pm. She then went on to say that they have 270 students that get released. I told her they needed to release them earlier then so they're released on time. The principal was very condescending and disrespectful. This school is horrible. I do not recommend.

Everything about this school is perfect without a doubt
