8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a tutor/mentor the staff made it very hard to find information about the student schedules and more information about the students progress. I felt as if they are just allowing the students to do bare minimal . In other terms " Passing them alone so then once they are done its not the school problem" The majority of students are not prepared for college. New students that transfer to the school are not assisted by guidance counselors to deal with separation and personality disorders. I asked my student how can we prepare for class when you have "NO BOOKS". I was told you cant... After visiting the school I found out that majority of the courses are online. Hmm... In order to help my student I need a syllabus of the work and a book or guide. Instead, I was told that I have to depend on the student to get the book from a teacher. How can I depend on the student when the main reason I need the book is because the student is not complying. So in other words I guess I will have no book. I was told I can contact the students teachers via email. Well all of them did not respond except for one. Hmm. Useless!!! I am very upset and it feels as if the school is setting the students up for FAILURE!!! All I want to do is help my students out but your making it impossible to do so when your website is USELESS AND YOUR STAFF!!!Other Review10y ago14 Reviews - River Oaks Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son left North Charleston Creative Arts with an outstanding record of behavior, leadership, and more. He stayed with his father for a school term at this school , and his performance declined from there. There is a significant difference between the two schools in terms of academics and the approach of teachers and students. As a parent, I place my trust in teachers to be open and honest. However, I have caught one teacher in a lie based on what was initially said and observed attempts to reframe the situation when I requested more information about the incident. Which lead it to my next conclusion, moving forward throughout the school year.2 Incident: One day, when I went to pick up my son from school, the administrator at the front desk immediately assumed he was cutting class because she hadn't received a response from the teacher. When the teacher eventually responded, it turned out my son had been in class the entire time. There are many more incidents, but I can summit up in this way.Automatically identifying children based on their appearance raises significant concerns about bias and inequality. Although it’s understandable that the environment might influence these perceptions, categorizing children solely based on how they look can reinforce stereotypes and create a sense of exclusion. Such practices can negatively impact students’ self-esteem and perpetuate divisions among them. It’s crucial for schools to recognize each student’s individuality and avoid making assumptions based on appearance, thereby fostering a more inclusive and equitable educational environment for all.Over all, choose the right school for your children. The right school can make a big difference in a child’s development. Factors like the school’s environment, the quality of its teachers, and the effectiveness of its administrators all contribute to a child’s learning experience and growth. Choosing a school that aligns with your child’s needs and values can set a strong foundation for their academic and personal success. My son future matters.School placements matters.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - Joseph R. "Nope! You have to walk over four blocks away for public bus. The bus is close to Rivers Ave and on Greenridge there are a lot of shooting so walking to the bus stop may not be good idea. Lots of people walk around the neighborhood but it’s just not safe around here anymore. I always drive because of all the foot traffic of transit people who randomly move here. I’ll be happy once we move away from this area. "

"It’s a busy place so I wouldn’t leave any child unsupervised if at all possible. People are very friendly and probably helpful but it’s a busy place, like foot traffic, so leaving a child unaccompanied is probably not advisable. "

"This is a wonderfully walkable neighborhood with plenty to do and see. Our house is in an old established neighborhood just two blocks from restaurants, yoga studios, shops, wine bars and craft breweries, fitness clubs, parks, farmers Market, Riverfront park - the list goes on. The City sponsors frequent events, and the area is one of the most desirable in the area. No need to go to downtown Charleston - although it is a short commute to go downtown or to any of the beaches or plantations."
