As a recent graduate of Seguin, I only have the best things to say. My teachers were incredible (except for a VERY select few which you’re going to find anywhere). I learned so many life lessons there and there was so many things to get involved in. I was in sports, student government, many clubs, and even piano. I also graduated with my Phlebotomy AND Certified Nursing Assistant certification because I went down the health track. Now that I am in college (Baylor University) I am so far ahead that I could graduate a semester to a year early because of the Dual Credit classes I was able to take at Seguin High School. I cannot possibly recommend this school and district enough. I have seen every side of this school, the good, the bad and the ugly and I would still choose to spend my school days there every time. I went to at least two different schools/districts (because of the military) before gathering the necessary paper work BY MYSELF in middle school because I wanted to transfer to Seguin so badly.

My daughter is graduating from Koennecke as a 5th grader this year. She has attended since Kindergarten and has always loved her school and all the staff. The current assistant principal was her kinder teacher, and she started out loving school and learning from the very beginning. She is friends with the support staff, and all the administration know her and always support her if she has any issues. The environment is like a big family. If I have ever had any issues with students or teachers, I have felt fully supported by the admins. I have become very close with all the staff and feel they all work to watch over my daughter on a daily basis. They offer many extracurricular activities, UIL participation, music club, archery, floral club, FFA, Heritage dancing... There are many school-wide events which welcome the families and community to contribute to our childerns lives and experiences. There have been several bullying incidents over the years; however, I believe the staff has stepped in and handled them well. Mr. Terry is great at working with students who have social-emotional issues or disabilities. Mrs. Holt, the Librarian, is amazing. She is always pushing students to read and find their interests and is there to help whenever needed. We could not have asked for a better elementary school experience. Everyone from the teachers greeting you in the morning, to the janitorial staff, admin. and teachers themselves, we could not thank them enough for all they do to make every day a good day.

I subbed for this school in 2024-2025 school year and the administration is more concerned about being friends with the students. I’ve personally heard him tell a student if they didn’t stop doing something they would get ISS. The student continued and the administrator just walked away and used the same lines on another student. No follow through. Now, I decided to sub again as it is a new year and hoped things would change. 2025-2026 school year. Same administration, same results. I had a student walk out of my class and they just returned him, just to walk out again. The same day I had a student not listen to my directions of putting their backpack in the back of the class (a school policy, not something I made up). So I called the office, per school instructions. By the time the admin came in the student put their bag where it should’ve been. So the admin looked at me and said well the bags in the corner I don’t need to be here. Not wanting to talk to the student and reinforce the rules and that they should be followed. The same day I had another class come in and spray perfume. I got an excruciating headache and the children wouldn’t be quiet. I called the office and they said they would send someone down. Suprise surprise, they didn’t. But I’m expected to stay in this class where the smell is and cover their class while I have this headache that won’t go away because the smell is lingering. I’m sure the student sprayed it on their desk, it lasted the whole day. I’m in tears and I will NEVER sub at this school again. My vision keeps blacking in and out because of my headache. This is so sad, and they wonder why there’s a shortage in teachers and now substitutes.
