  • Adkmts67
"simple living. farms, fishing, hunting, snowmobilers. very geared to out door activity. friendly people, wonderful artists community. I'm happy to call this my home. "
  • Sarah M.
"Many people walk their dogs and they are friendly. A few strays run free but I’ve never encountered a viscous or mean one. And I lived here for some 38 years."
  • Adkmts67
"there isn't any public transportation or taxis in the area. you need to drive. or you can make a 20 min bike ride to town."
  • Starbrancchingout
"Lived here one year with my grandson.its very country, safe, cultured and quiet here. I love my neighborhood., it has a family feeling to it."
  • Judy S.
"Pretty small town with active arts community in historic Hubbard Hall. Theatre company, Children's theatre, classes in yoga, puppet making, dance, Curiosity Forum, library, independent bookstore, Farmer's market, Opera, Village Store, Village Food Co-op. This community in southern Washington County is rural yet within an hour to Albany, 45 min. to Saratoga Springs and Manchester, VT, 35 min. or less to Global Foundaries. Artisanal bakers, goat cheese makers, Battenkill Ice Cream, great home-grown beef, pork, chicken, eggs, raw milk, every veggie imaginable from local growers, apple orchards and so much more! Artists hold Open Studio Days, farmers host Farm Tours."
  • mr40er
"I lived here for 9 yrs and absolutely loved it. Very easy to get involved with the school if you have kids. Small school with great teachers in a country setting. Very community oriented with lots of churches for everyone, annual Balloon Festival, quaint family run stores/farm stores for fresh veggies/flowers. Easy driving distance to Saratoga Springs/horse/track, Lake George, Albany, Vermont, etc..go do anything and come back to the quiet."
  • Mom
"I live here. The central school is a bit shoddy, but good teachers. Kids are nice, and people are nice. Very quiet. One hour or less commute to / from Lake George, Saratoga, Albany and manchester VT. "
