2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child transfered to Avondale Elementary from a private school, and we are extremely happy with the leadership and quality of the teachers. They truly care and work with the parents to meet each child's individual needs. The curriculum could be a bit more challenging with more opportunities for some students to progress faster, due to the large number of ESL students, but the nurturing environment is worth it. My child loves her teachers and looks forward to going to school for the first time in her life. Avondale's teachers and leadership are by far the best in Pueblo. They emphasize quantity over quality a bit too much (attendance and number of books read as opposed to individual academic achievement or advancement), but that helps to even the playing field for the ESL students. If you need a quality, nurturing environment for your child with staff who values your input, don't waste your money on the private schools in-town, they don't compete. Get on the wait list for Connect for middle school though... I'm not impressed with the middle schools in the county.Parent Review13y ago - Pueblo County High School
