6/104GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school for one year before transferring to the South Carolina Governor's School For the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) in Greenville, SC. My overall experience was less than ideal. I met some nice people, but never really felt like I truly fit, and felt judged due to me being overweight. I am a huge orchestra nerd, which was the only thing I enjoyed going to school for, and was honestly disheartened with my experience with the orchestra. You can definitely tell the band gets much more funding, and we were stuck with a college dorm-sized rehearsal space and limited resources and guides for improvement. Otherwise, my teachers were great and supportive, except for my English II teacher, and I had mixed experiences with staff. If your child is huge arts, I'd suggest looking into other alternatives, such as SCGSAH, Grand Strand Charter Arts School, or AAST.
