6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been at Sycamore for 1 year now and it has been fantastic except one teacher, but other than that I have met alot of nice kids that are older than me and I only encountered 1 bully that I can really remember but ive known this person since before she went to Sycamore. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a teacher at the school, I can attest to the dedication of the faculty to doing what they feel is in the students' best interest even though students and parents and even administration don't always agree. Are there some great teachers? Of course. Are there some not-so-great? Of course. Is the principal an evil, vindictive monster as some reviewers have suggested? Nope. Before she came to GHS, state test scores and graduation rates were considerably lower than they are now and we sent even LESS students on to higher education. I have seen a tremendous turn around in the school since she came on board with regard to the academics and attention to core subjects. GHS is now one of the highest rated schools in the state when compared to similarly sized schools and for a school with a high language learner population and huge percentage of socioeconomically disadvantaged students (60 percent!), we beat the pants off of other schools in the area when it comes to graduation and high school exist exam rates. We are definitely doing something right - it's a shame that so many cannot see the progress that has been made since 2005.Teacher Review13y ago
