This school was an absolute nightmare and ultimately made us leave MoCo and Maryland. Our daughter was relentlessly sexually harassed through out 5th grade and the school would do absolutely nothing to help her. They would not even move the boys to another classroom after they spoke about dreaming of raping her and wishing they could see through her clothes. The things these 5th grade boys said to her were absolutely revolting. The principal and MCPS destroyed her faith in humanity. It is a vile place to send your children. We moved to a different state after this experience and it is amazing in retrospect just how far MCPS has falling and what a terrible school system it actually is. Ask yourself why so many of your neighbors send their children to private school.

Honestly, the teachers at this school aren’t the problem, they try to do their job and teach. The real issue is the students. There’s a serious lack of discipline, and it feels like almost every bathroom has kids smoking. I’ve also heard about students bringing weapons to school, and it seems like the school doesn’t always find out. There are also gangs involved, and fights happen frequently. On top of that, there are a lot of students dealing drugs, and robberies happen daily. Overall, it’s a really unsafe environment because of the student behavior, not because of the teachers.

My experience at Tilden Middle School has been really frustrating. The school feels overcrowded, and the hallways get so packed between classes that it’s stressful just trying to get anywhere on time. The cafeteria is loud and chaotic, and the food usually isn’t good. Classes can feel crowded too, which makes it hard to focus or get help when you actually need it. And also peoples here are raicist and cyberbullying and bullying in real life. And also this rule for putting backpacks in lockers is bad because i want to have my backpack out and also there are some students that can easily get into your lockers so i do not like it. And also this rule for having to take off your hood during PE class i do not like it because sometimes there are students that have bad haircuts or just wants to have there hoods and and there forcing them to take them off so i do not like that ruleAnother problem is that the rules sometimes feel inconsistent, and it doesn’t always seem like students’ concerns matter. Some teachers try their best, but overall the environment feels strict and not very enjoyable. Honestly, the school feels so disorganized and frustrating that it doesn’t seem like it could improve much at all. overall i do NOT like this school i do NOT recommend it to your kids or cousins
