"Port Chester has a lot of potential, but the overall infrastructure needs serious attention. The roads are in poor condition, with many areas full of potholes and uneven pavement. There is also a noticeable amount of trash accumulating in corners and along the streets, which affects the overall feel of the town. Pedestrian safety is another concern — many crosswalks are either faded or not clearly marked at all. In addition, there are no dedicated bike lanes, which makes it difficult and unsafe for cyclists to get around. Green space is very limited. There are few parks, and the ones that exist are quite small and don’t offer much in terms of recreation or relaxation. With some investment in basic maintenance, cleanliness, and infrastructure, Port Chester could be a much more comfortable and attractive place to live."

"My daily commute is relatively smooth and manageable. I typically leave home around 7:30 a.m. and either drive or take public transportation, depending on the weather and traffic. On average, the trip takes about 40 to 50 minutes each way. I use this time to listen to podcasts, catch up on the news, or just unwind before and after work. While it can occasionally be affected by delays or congestion, I’ve developed a routine that helps me stay productive and relaxed"
  • Eridelka Rodriguez
"It’s great I would recommend this town to others safe and clean and quite definitely worth a move here "

"I grew up here & it’s very different now. Very mixed culture, more restaurants than local gift, clothing shops which I’d like to see. It’s very accessible to NYC & Connecticut which is a plus & beach close by."

  • Lynda W.
"I see several dog owners walking their dogs and the dogs are always on a leash. Additionally, most people do clean up after their dog, keeping the neighborhood sidewalks and grass clean. "
  • Joe L.

"I move from Queens Queens NY to Portchester about 17 years ago for work. I thought it was gonna be hard to get used to because in my old neighborhood of Woodhaven I had neighbors from different countries and that's why I love it. I was very pleasantly surprised Portchester had the same friendly and multicultural atmosphere. I love it here ."
