The teachers here are completely horrible! all of my friends that went here said it was a terrible school and the teachers did nothing about their situations! DO NOT GO HERE.

This school and administration is absolute trash. I cannot stress enough ..do not send your child here! My daughter was attacked in the bathroom, had informed the school of the threats prior and they did nothing. From there, the administration proceeded to victim blame her after the incident. It is the mobile home of high schools and I am embarrassed to have ever enrolled my child in this dump. She learns more standing in line at McDonalds. Do yourself a favor, enroll in private school if you are in this area. Your tax dollars are not going very far here.

I was very disappointed with our experience at this school. From the very beginning in fact- during ‘Meet the Teacher’ night it was extremely disorganized. We had no idea which teacher our son would be assigned to until the night was ending. I felt that the school staff were biased toward families of color and those of a different religion- I never felt welcome and I often worried for my son, and how he was being treated while in school. In the beginning my son was happy to attend school but soon began saying he didn’t want to attend and didn’t like school. My son has always been a happy kid and the change was very concerning. My son was being bullied and assaulted and the school did not contact myself or my husband. We had to contact the school and they were not helpful. The Principal chose to have a meeting with our son instead of communicate with us. She relayed she was developing ways to decrease bullying but never got back to me to keep me aware of any changes or progress being made. The only positive thing that I can think of is the PTA and how the members really cared for the students and wanted to make sure the kids who were less fortunate had an opportunity to participate in school events that came with a cost. I am so happy with the new school my son is with now- it is the exact opposite of Pleasant Lake. From the moment we contacted the school to enroll him, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. Each staff member in the school has been so pleasant and welcoming. My sons teacher has been so kind and loving and I can tell she cares. I am excited for the upcoming year because I feel confident he will have another great experience. I am thankful to God for blessing us with a school that is conducive for us! I just wanted a place where we would feel welcome, seen, valued, and able to be involved in our sons learning journey. Thankfully, we have been blessed with his current school.
