My child attending this school and I am very satisfied with education my son could speak English but it was very little so end of the year he reclassified by passing his test, he doesn’t want move to another school, teachers are very nice and helping kids to grow educated.

Virgil Middle School is a great school to learn and grow. Every teacher is willing to help their students to succeed in their educational course.

Our experience at Lake Street Primary School was deeply distressing, largely due to the conduct of the school’s principal, Susan Sanchez-Ramirez.As a parent of a 5-year-old child with disabilities, I expected a school environment grounded in understanding, safety, and appropriate supports. Instead, once I began advocating for my child, the school’s response shifted in ways that felt retaliatory rather than collaborative.Rather than relying on appropriate special education and behavioral supports, Principal Sanchez-Ramirez repeatedly contacted law enforcement regarding my 5-year-old disabled child. She also told him directly, “I’m calling the cops on you.” As a result, my child remains fearful and genuinely believes that police are coming for him. He is only five years old, and the emotional impact of this has been significant and lasting.I also experienced public humiliation by the principal in front of other parents and staff, which was unprofessional and deeply upsetting. No parent should be treated this way for advocating for their child’s needs.After I raised concerns, communication became inconsistent, documentation was delayed or incomplete, and my child was repeatedly removed early from school in ways that were framed as parent-initiated despite being school-directed.Additionally, a report was made to DCFS that was later determined to be unfounded. The timing and circumstances surrounding this added to the distress of an already overwhelming situation.Families of children with disabilities deserve school leadership that is empathetic, trauma-informed, and accountable. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at this school. I hope this review helps other families make informed decisions and encourages greater oversight and improvement.

It’s a great school! Especially the academy alc (academic leadership and community) Has many opportunities and we all live the teenage dream in a safely manner, the teachers are super nice and friendly and they care about you of course. The campus is amazing and the school is just great in general!
