"The neighborhood is very clean and well groomed. the neighbors are very helpful and very kind. It's a very large neighborhood, it makes for a long hilly run . I very much enjoyed living here. "

"Cedar Mill is a D.R. Horton property, generally solid design. The homes are a bit close together and street parking can sometimes be challenging for navigating neighborhood, but pretty friendly with respectful pet owners and parents. People take pride in their homes and property which is a great!"

"great access to all areas of charlotte and main interstates or highways. uptown and university only 20 mins away. birkdale about 10 mins away. growing area, great for families"
  • newman_jeffrey
"Kind of an unknown corner of Charlotte but 10 minutes to Northlake mall, airport, uptown, anywhere with 485, 85 and 77 being minutes away. All the conveniences you need with 1 minutes (gym, coffeehouse, 4 grocery stores, etc)."
  • Neuseriverbooks
"The Overlook neighborhood is a family friendly neighborhood convenient to Uptown and the University areas of Charlotte. Commutes to both areas are less than 25 minutes. The community is on Mountain Island Lake. It has a boat ramp and boat storage areas. There is a neighborhood soccer field, basketball courts, tennis courts and a pool with club house. The community also has a wonderful combination of sidewalks and wooded walking trails that makes it easy to exercise."
  • TRACY C.
"Quiet, not too remote. Easy access to I-485 and I-85. Numerous amenities within a 50 mile radius. "
  • Spanbauer
"Mountain Island Lake is the drinking water source for Charlotte and surrounding cities. Most of the land around lake is owned by conservation groups and the local counties. The Overlook is located in the Charlotte city limits and is highly desirable because it is only 20 minutes from downtown Charlotte and 10 minutes from Northlake Mall. We have fishing, waterskiing, boating, canoeing, and other various water sports on our lake. Most families enjoy spending quality time on the lake and the convenience of having a dock or slip to quickly go on or come off the lake. The houses in the Overlook neighborhood have large lots (at least 0.5 acres) which is a big difference from newer neighborhoods that have smaller lots. The neighborhood is very friendly and safe. We enjoy two parks (one is a soccer field and playground equipment and the other is a basketball court, playground equipment, gazebo, and fishing pier). We also have walking paths that wind their way throughout the entire neighborhood. We are a pet-friendly neighborhood and family friendly as well."
