About this House

The last, 5 years we set out to do major improvements planning to be here for life. Health issues have changed that plan so now it's ready for new owners. Please contact Sue Hammons (me) at 806 778 0744. We are just five houses from the pool and commons area – close enough to walk easily but far enough not to hear the noise. Our home's rooms are large, easily adaptable, and efficiently use the space. The huge isolated master has a built-in desk and room for another desk/work area, exercise equipment, or sitting area. The laundry room is large enough that I put a desk in it when we moved in, then later a play pen and play area for grandkids, and now a second refrigerator and filing cabinet. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet with shoe shelving. The other 2 bedrooms each have 2 large closets with shelving for shoes or books or toys. Besides a new front lawn, we have a mature plum tree that is loaded with plums each year and a 5 year old pecan tree that now is bearing enough for pies! We have continued to take good care of our home – just recently applying pre-emergent on the lawn to have it ready for the new owners.

All improvements haven been done by quality professionals. Improvements include:
Within the last 2 years:

New outside doors: Fiberglass entry with oval glass, Steel back door and door to garage with blind inserts. ($3000)

New steel garage doors ($1400)

Repainted all outside surfaces and replaced facia as needed. Also replaced wrought iron posts on front with turned wood posts. ($2600)

Front yard leveled and reseeded. ($4000)

Replaced driveway and sidewalks. Added sidewalk from patio to back fence. ($5500)

Replaced and stained fence bordering alley. Repaired side fences.

Replaced 2 of the 4 ceiling fans.

Replaced dishwasher.

New stainless steel undermount sink and faucet.

Last 5 years:
Master bathroom remodel with shower replacing tub Shower includes bench, grab bars, and movable shower head. Also replaced commode and tile floor. Replaced countertop with twin wave sinks. All hardware was replaced with oil rubbed bronze. ($11,4000)

Ecowater systems soft water system ($3000)

Liftmaster garage door openers.

Earlier updates:

Kitchen counters replaced with quartz engineered stone, which looks like granite but is more durable and maintenance free – also more expensive!

Added lighting in pantry and lighting and power strips under cabinets.

Replaced wall ovens with GE Profile oven and microwave. Replaced cooktop with matching smooth surface cooktop. Added cookie sheet shelving.

Carrier air conditioner and furnace – 2 speed for better efficiency and comfort.

Added 8" insulation in attic.

Sprinkler system in front and back yards with automatic controller and freeze and rain sensor.

Roof 40 year Elk Prestique shingles – currently 8 years old
